The things nobody explains properly.

Hosting, domains, content systems, email. You are expected to already know what these are before anyone will quote you. Here they are in plain English, including when the honest answer is that you do not need the thing.

How long does a website take?
It depends mostly on you, not on us: the clock really starts when we have your text, photos, prices and hours. We put a target date in writing once that material is in hand. Late material moves the date, which is why we do not advertise a fixed turnaround we cannot control.
What do you need from me to start?
Your text, photos, logo, prices and opening hours, and a clear idea of what the site is for. If some of that does not exist yet, say so — it is a normal starting point and we can work out what is actually needed.
How many changes do I get?
Two rounds of changes to the design are included. Beyond that, or for new pages and features that were not in the original scope, we quote before doing the work.
What if I do not have photos?
Tell us early. Photography changes what a site should look like, and a design built around photos you do not have is a design that will disappoint you. There are ways around it, and we would rather plan for that at the start than paper over it at the end.
Do I get a contract?
Yes. Every project gets a written agreement setting out the scope, the price, any repeating charge and the terms, plus a release form. You can read it and accept it online; we do not start work on a handshake.
